About Us

The Cottage Surgery practice was established in Bailieborough by Doctor Paddy Halligan following the retirement of Doctor Philip Carroll in 1986. We initially opened in Thomas Street, moved to Barrack Street in the early 90s, and currently work out of New Road, opposite the rear entrance to Supervalu. We also have a branch surgery in Mullagh on the Cavan-Meath border.

We are a traditional family practice and provide a broad range of services to all our patients. In 2007, we became a training practice, and we are currently hosting a trainee from the North East Regional Training Scheme. We are also affiliated with UCD as one of its core training practices for undergraduate medical students. We pride ourselves as being a friendly and caring practice open to all patients irrespective of religion, colour, race or social class.

Dr Susan O Shea has left the practice and is moving to Drogheda. Dr Laith Almarsomi is taking her place. All at the practice wish them both all the best for the coming year.

Practice Nurse Anna O'Reilly retired today. We wish her well in the future
